Programs

In addition to regular meetings, JSA organizes large-scale cultural programs each semester designed to engage the wider Rutgers community

Sakura Festival

Spring Semester

Our largest event of the year, Sakura Festival is a spring celebration inspired by traditional Japanese cherry blossom festivals. The event is open to the entire Rutgers community and is designed to introduce Japanese culture through performances, food, and interactive activities

Undoukai

Fall Semester

Undōkai is a traditional Japanese field day event featuring team-based games and friendly competitions inspired by school sports festivals in Japan. Participants are placed into teams and compete in a variety of physical and cooperative challenges designed to encourage interaction and community building.
